The Truth About “Just One Freebie”
We’ve noticed a little trend lately.
Our inboxes, DMs, and comments seem to be filled with the same kind of message:
“Hi! I’m planning a bridal shower / bachelorette party / girls’ weekend and would LOVE some Wine Away for the group!”
And first, let us say this…We get it. Truly.
If we were planning a weekend full of champagne toasts, red wine, white dresses, and “just one more glass,” we’d want Wine Away there too. It’s kind of the quiet essential for those moments worth celebrating… and the ones worth saving.
But here’s the part we don’t always say out loud.
We’re a small, women-owned business.
Not a giant corporation with endless marketing budgets and warehouses of free product to give away.
Every bottle of Wine Away that leaves here matters.
It helps keep our team working, our lights on, and this little brand going strong after all these years.
So when we get dozens (and dozens) of requests for free product every week, as much as we wish we could say yes to everyone…
We simply can’t.
Not because we don’t love you.
Not because we don’t think your event sounds amazing (they all do, by the way).
But because giving away product at that scale would quietly put us out of business.
When we do consider gifting, it’s typically for those who have already been part of our community. People who are already following along, engaging with our content, sharing us with friends, tagging us, and showing a little love for the brand before asking for free product.
That kind of genuine support really stands out to us, and it makes a huge difference for a small business like ours.
While we may not be able to send free product for every girls’ weekend, bridal shower, bachelorette party, or wine-filled weekend away, we do try to help where we can by offering a special discount to people who genuinely support the brand and want Wine Away along for the celebration. Because honestly, we’re always honored when Wine Away gets invited to the party 🤍
Because the truth is… supporting a small business doesn’t always look like getting something for nothing.
Sometimes it looks like choosing to support the brands you genuinely want to see stick around.
And trust us, we notice that too.
For the moments worth celebrating,
and the ones worth saving.
XOXO,
Staci
